B.C. woman doused with gasoline, set ablaze: police

A woman is in critical condition at Vancouver General Hospital with second- and third-degree burns to half her body after she was doused with gasoline and set abaze, police said Sunday.

A woman who was doused with gasoline and set ablaze is in critical condition at Vancouver General Hospital with second- and third-degree burns to half her body, police said Sunday.

The unidentified elderly victim was flown to Vancouver from Clearwater, north of Kamloops,in the B.C. Interior, RCMP Const. Chris Newelsaid.

Newel said a small dog was also set on fire and had to be euthanized.

A man has been arrested andcharged with attempted murderand cruelty to animals. He is scheduled to appear in a Kamloops court on Tuesday.
