Baby survives after vehicle hits, drags stroller: Squamish RCMP

Ababy survived being struck by a vehicle while in a stroller that was then dragged for two blocks in downtown Squamish, B.C., while lodged in the front of a vehicle.

RCMP say they received several calls that a vehicle had hit a pedestrian pushing a stroller at a crosswalk near Pemberton Avenue and Second Avenue around 8:30 p.m. PT Monday.

Investigators say the vehicle kept driving but was found approximately two blocks away with thebabystill inside the stroller.

Police say both the pedestrian andbabyhave non-life-threatening injuries and are receiving medical attention.

The driver was arrested and police say the investigation is ongoing.

Mounties are asking anyone with dashcam or security camera footage of the downtown Squamish area between the hours of 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. PT Monday to contact them at 604-892-6100.
