BC Ferries resumes service after high winds forced cancellations on major routes

BC Ferries resumed service between the mainland and Vancouver Island after high winds forced the cancellations of several sailings.

All ferry sailings between the mainland and Vancouver Island were back to normal at 3 pm

BC Ferries has resumed service between the mainland and Vancouver Island after high winds forced the cancellations of several sailings earlier in the day.

The ferry servicesaid it is working closely with Environment Canada to evaluate changing weather conditions.

Wind warnings are in effect for B.C.'s South Coast, with gusts of up to 100 km/h expected in some areas on Friday, according to Environment Canada.
