BC Hydro website fails at worst possible time during windstorm
BC Hydro president says organization is seeking answers from website provider TELUS
BC Hydro was unable to update customersonlinedue to a completewebsite failure that lasted the entire duration of Saturday's windstorm and continued through Sunday intoMonday.
About 500,000 Hydrocustomers who lost power in the windstormwere unable to access the website for crucial updates.
In aninterview with CBC's Andrew Chang, BC HydroPresident and CEO Jessica McDonald saysHydro is looking to website provider TELUSfor answersas well as an explanation for whybackup plans didn't work.
McDonald says that despite the problem,BC Hydro's crewsdid succeedin restoring power in a timely manner.
