RCMP officer injured in Burnaby collision

An RCMP officer was hospitalized after a four-car crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in Burnaby late Wednesday evening.

An RCMP traffic officer was hospitalized after a four-car crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in Burnaby late Wednesday evening.

Fire and Rescue crews from both Burnaby and Coquitlam responded to the crash around 11:30 p.m. PT, which happened just past the Brunette Avenue exit heading westbound.

Crews found the officer from the Port Mann Freeway Patrol inside his vehicle with injuries to his neck. He was taken to hospital in stable condition and later released with minor injuries.

The other drivers involved in the crash were notinjured.The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
