Burnaby RCMP say nobody hurt in early-morning shooting

Burnaby RCMP are investigating after a gun was fired at a car, early Wednesday morning.

3 people were in the car that was hit, but nobody was injured

Burnaby RCMP are investigating after a gun was fired at a carearly Wednesday morning.

It happened at a townhousecomplexon Tretheway Drivejust after 1 a.m.

Sgt. Jeff Ausmus said three people were in the car at the time, but none of them was hit.

The shooter fled in a vehicle before anyone could get a look at the licence plate.

Ausmus said neither the car that was shot atnorits occupants have any apparent ties to gang activity. He said, at this time,it appears to be a random shooting.

An RCMP K-9 unit was on scene searching the area, but no suspect was found.

The car, a grey sedan, was towed from the scene as evidence.
