The National Lacrosse League's Vancouver Stealth has been purchased by the group that owns the Vancouver Canucks.

Canucks Sports & Entertainment said in a release Monday that the sale has been approved by the NLL, and that the team will undergo a completerebrand.

The Stealth will get a new name and logo over the coming months, and relocate to the Rogers Arena.

The team had played out of the Langley Events Centre over the past five seasons after relocating to the Vancouver area from Everett, Wash.

Vancouver managed just two wins last season and finished at the bottom of the NLL standings at 2-16.

"British Columbia has a rich lacrosse history and people from across the country and around the world know how important this market is to the game," Canucks Sports & Entertainment chief operating officer Jeff Stipec said in a statement.

"We look forward to continuing to grow the game, both on the floor and in the community. We can't wait to get to work."
