Car fire forces woman out of her home in Surrey
The woman's small car was fully engulfed in flames when crews responded around 5:30 a.m. Saturday
A Surrey woman was forced out of her homeafter her vehiclecaught fire in her driveway early Saturday morning.
Surrey fire crews respondedto the woman's house with four units around 5:30 a.m.,in the 12000 block of 112B Avenue.
When they arrived, they found asmall car fully engulfed.
Battalion Chief Andy George saidif crews hadn't knocked down the fire so quickly, it could have been much worse.
"If we hadn't got it quickly, it could have quite easily got into the house," said George.
"It was a pretty simple car fire ... we were able to knock it down quickly."
Although some smoke got inside the home, firefighters were able toget the woman out safely.
There was no damage to the residence, but a small trailer next to the car suffered minor damage from the blaze.
George said the cause of the fire is still unknown, and that the RCMParenow handling the investigation.
