A native of Dawson Creek, B.C., Forbes'distinctvoice, rhythmic guitar playingand introspective lyrics have won him praise fromaspiring blues players and critics alike.

From the early days of small coffee houses and opening act slots with artists such asJohn Lee Hooker, The Earl Scruggs Revue and Santana to eventually selling out his own shows and headlining most of the major folk music festivals in Canada, Forbeshas developed into one of the nation's beloved acoustic performers.

A voracious songwriter with a distinctive voice, Forbes' material has been covered by performers such asSylvia Tyson,Valdy,Cindy ChurchandShawnColvin.

The CBC Musical Noonersis a series of free, live music concertsfrom noon to 1 p.m.at the CBC Vancouver Plaza on Hamilton Street (between West Georgia and Robson).
