Charges laid in string of stabbings during Vancouver rush hour

Fourassault charges have been laid after a suspectstabbed a number ofpeople during the morning rush hour in Vancouver on Thursday, March 2.

The Criminal Justice Branch confirmed Bradley Mazerollehas been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple assault forattacks that took place just after 8:30 a.m. between West Broadway, Cambie Street, Main Street and East Second Avenue.

At the time, three victims were taken to hospital inserious condition with stab wounds. Vancouver police haveconfirmed all three victims have since been released

The incidents began on Broadway near the Cambiestreetintersection.An altercation between the first personand the suspect left the victim with stab wounds, said police. Another person was later assaulted at Yukon Street.

Another victim was stabbed at Quebec Street and East Fourth Avenue. A final victim was stabbed at Main Street and East Second Avenue, according to police.

Mazerolleappeared at Vancouver Provincial Court Tuesday.

VPD Constable JasonDoucettesaid in a statement additional charges are likely as the investigation continues.
