Trans-Canada Highway reopened after fatal crash near Chilliwack

A horrific crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in Chilliwack left one person deadTuesday night.

The collision happened at about midnightin the eastbound lane nearthe Annis Road exit.

Officials have notyet said exactly what happened, but an eastboundsemi-truck appears to have collided with a pickup truck, leaving a significant impact on the front of the pickup truck.

The crash leftthe eastbound lanes of the highway closed between Prest Road and Annis Road, with a detour on Prairie Central Road. The westbound lanes remained open.
