Christy Clark now mulling Liberal leadership bid

Clark, 45, a Vancouver talk-radio host,announced on-air Friday that she is going to take one week off "to think very hard"whether or not she will join the race to succeed Premier Gordon Campbell.

Two B.C. Liberal MLAs George Abbott and Moira Stilwell have quit the provincial cabinet this weekand declared their candidacy.

Clarkwas first elected a Liberal MLA in1996 and later served as Education Minister and Minister of Children and Family Development.

She left politics in 2004 to devote more time to her family.

Clark had suggested when asked earlier this week that she was not seriously contemplating a leadership bid and was happy with her life as a radio host and mother.

Shesaid Friday she has had an enormous number people approach her to run for the leadership, but also said both people who like her and who don't like her have urged her not to go for the job.
