Vancouver is upgrading some well-travelled bike routes throughout the city as part of a plan to reduce collisions and making cycling smoother.

The $2-millionspot improvement program aims to get more people cycling by improving safety of collision-prone routes. Traffic diverters at Union and Hawks Streets have already seen changes.

The spot improvement program will focus on some of the city'smost-travelled bike routes and residents near the sites slated for improvement will be consulted before any changes are made.
