Conservatives Kerry-Lynne Findlay and Andrew Saxton defeated

High-profile Conservatives Kerry-LynneFindlay and Andrew Saxton were defeated by Liberal opponents Monday in the battleground ridings of Delta and North Vancouver.

Findlaywas appointed Minister of National Revenue in 2013.

After Industry Minister James Moore's decision not to run for re-election, she was seen as one of the highest ranking Conservatives in B.C.

Findlay was first elected to parliament in 2011. She lost herseat to Carla Qualtrough, a lawyer and paralympian, who is a newcomer to politics.

Saxton was first elected in North Vancouver in 2008. He served as parliamentary secretary to the president of the Treasury Board and parliamentary secretary for Western Economic Diversification.

He was defeated by Jonathan Wilkinson, who emerged from the green technology sector to take a first stab at federal politics. Wilkinson is also a Rhodes scholar.
