Three more cougar sightings were reported in the Victoria suburb of Oak Bay overnight Monday.

All were in the south central part of the municipality, but none has been confirmed by police, according to Conservation Officer Scott Norris.

"Anytime we get sightings, we assess them, we look into them and we do the best we can to try and determine whether it's a cougar or not. At this point we've not been able to verify if these sightings are indeed cougars," said Norris.

The latest reports come after several reported sightings in Oak Bay, Saanich, and Victoria in recent days, including one that was tranquillized after leading police and conservation officers on a chase near the B.C. Legislature. It was released in the Port Renfrew area.
