'Devil horse' for sale in northern B.C.

A horse for sale in Smithers is being advertised as possibly "one of the horses of the apocalypse." OwnerGina Dehoog says she put up the ad to ward off inexperienced owners interested in her difficult mare.

"I was trying to find the right match for my more complicated horse,"Dehoog explained to Daybreak Northhost Carolina de Ryk.

"I didn't want to have the less experienced or those that have watchedHeartlandand believe they're Amy Fleming."

"I was looking for someone that could possibly be the Grim Reaper and wants to ride astride this horse."

The ad,posted onFacebook, reads: "Horse ...believed to be from the depths of hell and could possibly be one of the horses of the apocalypse. Has a good start on saddle work but trainer believes an exorcist would have better success in furthering of her schooling."

Dehoog is a farrier in the Bulkley Valley who also provides riding lessons. She purchased the mare, named Sudoku, in 2013and soon found she is "not your typical horse."

"She is just more difficult," Dehoog explained. "I'm more concerned ofthe lack-of-experience people I have around me on a regular basis getting into a situation with her and possibly teaching her bad habits or getting her into a dangerous situation."

The horse is jokingly listed at $666,999, a reference to the number of the Beast.Dehoog said she will happilylet the marego for much less, provided they are the right owner.

She admits not everyoneappreciates the humour in thelisting, but added, "they're not the right person for the horse."

Dehoogsaid she is in communication with "some qualified people" who she thinks will give Sudokuthe home she needs.

"I'm looking forward to seeing her future.She is quite the talented mare.I just need to find the person that can unlock her."
