Driver crashes Mustang into Fort Langley storefronts

Diora Boutique and The Happy Kitchen will be closed for the weekend as the store owners work on fixing up all the damage.

Langley RCMP say the driver had been drinking that night, and that the car was uninsured.

The storefronts of two Langley businesses were destroyed after a driver crashed a Ford Mustang into the stores' windows.

The accident happened just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the Happy Kitchen and the Diora Boutique stores in Fort Langley.

A Langley RCMP officer on scene said the young man was under the influence of alcohol while driving, and that the car was uninsured.

The owner of The Happy Kitchen was on scene after the accident occurred. She said some family members would be helping her out during the cleanup on Sunday.

Although he was shaken up, the driver was uninjured. He was taken into custody on scene by police. The stores will be closed for the weekend as the owners work on fixing the damage.
