Family with 2 children struck by vehicle at pedestrian crossing in Surrey

A family with two children was struck by a vehicle while crossing in a marked intersection in Surrey, B.C., say police.

Two people have been taken to hospital in critical condition and another in stable condition after they were struck by a vehicle in Surrey, B.C.

B.C. Emergency Health Services said two people were taken to hospital in critical condition and another was taken in stable condition.

RCMP say the mother, father, and children were crossing 76th Avenue and 147a Street when the vehicle hit them at approximately 5:50 p.m. PT.

The driver remained on the scene, according to RCMP.

Police said the intersection will be closed for several hours as officers continue to investigate.
