The body of missing New Westminster woman Florence Leung, 32, has been found in the waters near Bowen Island, police have confirmed.

"The BC Coroner's Service has been advised. Foul play is not suspected," said brief statement issued by New Westminster Police on Thursday morning.

Her husband Kim Chen told CBC News it was a difficult time for the family and he wanted to thank everyone who helped in the search but he did not want say anymore at this time.

News of the recovery was first posted on Wednesday evening on a Facebook group set up for the search for Leung.

The Facebook post thanked everyone who helped in the search for Leung.

"Florence, you are missed dearly in our hearts. We believe you are at a better place now watching over us with your loving, caring, and warming heart," the post concludes.

The 32-year-old mother of an infant boy disappeared from the family home on Oct. 25. Her car was located the next day near Prospect Point in Stanley Park.

Except for some surveillance video from a Vancouver convenience store from the day she disappeared, no trace of her was found during an extensive search.
