Granville Street nightclub worker dies after early-morning fight
Kalwinder Thind, 23, died from injuries after fight on Granville Street, police say
A nightclub worker has died after attempting to break up a fight on Granville Street in downtown Vancouverearly Saturday morning, police say.
KalwinderThind, 23, was working at the Cabana Lounge at 1159 GranvilleStreet when a fight broke out inside the club at approximately 2:30 a.m.,police say.
Thindattempted to intervene when the fight spilled into the street and he was injured at the scene, police say. He wastaken to hospital, where he died.
According to the Vancouver Police Department, several peoplehave been arrested.
'His spirit was bright'
Thind was also employed at Richmond Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd.The companypaid tribute to him on itsFacebook page.
"Richmond Chrysler isdeeply saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend, Kal Thind. He worked in our sales department for over 1 year, he was family. His spirit was bright and he was loved by all, gone too soon. Our condolences to his Family and Friends during this difficult time," it reads.
