Parents holding out hope their little ghouls and goblins won't get soaked trick-or-treating tonight in Vancouver may be rewarded.

Today's rain is expected to end in the late afternoon, says Environment Canada.

That means for prime trick-or-treating hours the forecast is mainly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers.

This month, the record for most days of rain in Vancouver has been broken: 28 of 31, surpassing the old record of 26, said Environment Canada.

Still, it's often dry in Vancouver for trick-or-treating, said Environment Canada, only raining five out of the past 16 years at Vancouver International Airport between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. PT on Oct. 31.
