Hiker falls to his death climbing glacier near Squamish

A manhas fallen to his death while hiking a mountain near Squamish, B.C.

RCMP say he fell while climbing Stadium Glacier on Sky Pilot Mountain.

Insp. Konrad Golbeck said Squamish RCMP received a report a man had been hurt badly in a fall.

Golbeck said police and emergency crews rushed to the scene, which is a three-hour hike from the Sea-to-Sky Gondola, but the climber died before rescuers reached him.

No other details have been released.
