RCMP investigate suspected homicide in Lake Cowichan, B.C.

RCMP on Vancouver Island say a person previously reported missing is now believed to be the victim of a homicide.

At about 11 p.m. PT Tuesday, Mounties found Tavis Cragg dead at a property east of Lake Cowichan

RCMP on Vancouver Island say a person previously reported missing is now believed to be the victim of a homicide.

On Tuesday, Mounties say Tavis Craggwas reported missing from Nanaimo, B.C., At about 11 p.m. Police say they went to a property in the 7900 block of CowichanLake Road, about 65 kilometres northwest of Victoria, looking for Cragg.

There, police say they found Cragg dead.

The RCMP'sVancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has identified a suspect, who police say has met with investigators.

Police said the investigation is still in its early stages, but they believeCragg's death was an isolated incidentand there is no risk to the public. No further information is being released.

Police are asking anyone who may have information to contact theVancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.
