Ibrahim Ali charged in Burnaby hit-and-run death

Ibrahim Ali, 25, has been charged in connection with a recent hit and run in Burnaby, B.C.

IbrahimAli, 25, has been charged in connection with a recenthit-and-run death in Burnaby, B.C.

A 25-year-old woman died after the car she was driving was rammed at high speed late at night on March 9 near the BCIT campus in Burnaby. RCMP said a "fraudulently-obtained" Range Rover ran a red light before hitting the car.

Two suspects, a manand a woman, were laterfound at a motel in Creston, B.C., afterRCMPreceived a call about two suspicious peoplewho had booked into a motel in theKootenaytown.

The owner of the Skimmerhorn Inn said the pair arrived late at night and admitted to having been in acar accident. They were both covered in mud, and the man was also covered in blood, according to the inn owner.

The couple tried to flee in a taxi after officers questioned them the next morning, but police tracked them down.

Ali has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and failingto stop at an accident causing bodily harm.
