IHIT investigating homicide in Burnaby, B.C.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on scene after a homicide in Burnaby Thursday afternoon.

One person is in custody after the attack, which police say was not random

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on the scene ofa homicide in Burnaby that occurred Thursday afternoon.

Police say they were called to a house in7900 block of 18Avenue, just south of RobertBurnabyPark around 1 p.m. for a woman needing medical attention.

When theyarrived, policesay they found a 45-year-old woman dead inside a residence.

A 47-year-old man has been taken into custody.Police say the incidentwas "not a random act."

Theyare not releasing the name of the suspect, the victim or commenting on the nature of their relationships.

IHIT says it will providemore information later Thursday.
