High-risk sex offender James Conway has been released from custody and will be moving to the Delta, B.C. area, police say.

Conway has previously been convicted three times for sexual offences perpetrated against children.

According to B.C. Corrections, Conway has "maintained a versatile pattern of sexual offending against female children in a predatory and opportunistic manner" and has a criminal history that includes arson.

Delta police have released a public advisorysaying he plans to reside in the city and prefers to use public transit.

Conway had been released in February butwas taken back into custodyafter allegedly violating the terms of his release by sitting next to a teenage girl on aTransLinkbus.

He will now be subject to electronic monitoring and is not allowed to leave his place of residence unless accompanied by a case worker.

He is also prohibitedfrom any contact with children electronically or in-person, going to any public areas that offer activities to children such as schools, public parks and community centres, and cannot travel alone on public transit.
