RCMP give all-clear for courthouse in Kelowna, B.C., after building was evacuated

RCMPhave giventhe all-clear for people to return to the courthouse in Kelowna, B.C., after ordering an evacuation earlier in the morning.

Police said they are investigating 'unknown threat' after evacuation Wednesday morning

RCMPhave declared there is no threat to the courthouse in Kelowna, B.C., and have giventhe all-clear for people to return to the building,after ordering an evacuation Wednesday morning.

Police saidthey received a call around 9:30 a.m. PT about a possible threat to the Kelowna Law Courtson Water Street, in the downtown core of the OkanaganValley city.

"The RCMP received a threat directed towardthe courthouse here in Kelowna, so we evacuated the building," said Kelowna RCMP Const. Mike Della-Paolera.

RCMPsaid they arrived and cleared the building around 9:40 a.m., and also closed the part of Water Street between Cawston Avenue and Doyle Avenue.

After searching the building, police gave the all-clear around 11 a.m.

The RCMP said they are still investigating the threat to the courthouse.
