William and Kate land in Kelowna for wine tasting and volleyball match

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed to Kelowna today for a public event at UBC's Okanagan campus, and then a private wine tasting at a local vineyard.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed toKelowna, B.C.,today for a public event atUBC'sOkanagancampus, and then a private wine tasting at a local vineyard.

Prince William and Kate will spend most of their day in Premier Christy Clark's riding inKelowna, before heading to Yukon in the evening.

They're making two stops during their short stay inKelowna, but their 2:10 p.m.visit to theMission Hill Winery is not open to the general public.

Welcoming crowd at UBC

Their first stop was a public event at the University of British Columbia'sOkanagancampusearlier in the afternoon, where alarge crowd awaited their arrival.

After presiding over the dedication of a plaque marking the10thanniversary of the school, the royal couple viewed a large piece of Indigenous art commissioned to honour the partnership between the university and theOkanaganNation Alliance.

They watched a volleyball match in the school's gymbefore heading off to a private event at the Mission Hill winery.

William and Kate will fly to Whitehorse later in the afternoon, where they willmeet the public at the airport at 6:10 p.m. PT.

They will spend Wednesday in Yukonbefore returning to Victoria later in the day.
