Not done with summer? Vancouver's Kitsilano pool isn't either. The Park Board says it will keep the busy, seaside pool open an extra week, until September 20.

Not done with summer? Vancouver's Kitsilano pool isn't either. The Park Board says it will keep the busy, seaside pool open an extra week, until September 20.

The summer's warm temperatures have drawn record crowds to Vancouver's only saltwater pool. The pool drew as many as 2,000 swimmers a day in 2015, compared with 1,400 aday last year.

The outdoor pools at Second Beach in Stanley Park, New Brighton Park and Maple Grove Park will close as scheduled after the Labour Day weekend. The outdoor pool at Hillcrest Centre will close in late September.

The Kits pool, which overlooks English Bay, is 137 metres long, attracting serious swimmers, including triathletes who use it to train.
