For the second time in three months, plastic bags containing Ku Klux Klan literature have been distributed to homes in east Abbotsford.

About 70 pamphlets were dropped off in driveways in the 35200 block of Marshall Road before 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

"The pamphlet makes disparaging comments about Martin Luther King Jr., which is believed to coincide with the recognition of his birthday and the observance of the federal holiday in the United States, " said Const. Ian MacDonald with Abbotsford police.

Surveillance video caught a dark-coloured pickup truck, possibly a Dodge Ram, in the area at the time.

The Abbotsford Police Department's Forensic Identification Unit is analyzing the material for fingerprints and the B.C. Hate Crime Team has been contacted.

MacDonald says they're working to confirm the suspects are the same people who distributed similar pamphlets in Chilliwack, Mission and Abbotsford in October.

"If we manage to lift some fingerprints, we might be able to say definitively," MacDonald said.

"I would like to think that they're the same people because I would like to think there aren't that many ignorant people who are out and about."

Anyone with information about this ongoing investigation should contact the APD at 604-859-5225.

RCMP are also investigating a separate incident in Richmond in November when someone distributed anti-Chinese flyers.
