RCMP search for 16-year-old missing for weeks on Vancouver Island
Makayla Chang hasn't been seen since March 17, say police
RCMP are continuing their searchfor a 16-year-old girl who's been missing formore than two weeks.
Makayla Chang was last seen in Nanaimo on March 17.On Sunday, Mounties searched Colliery Dam Park as part of their investigation into her disappearance.
Officials wouldn't confirm what exactly they were looking for, but did confirm to CBCNews thatthe search was linked to the case.
Chang is described as part Asian, part Caucasian,5'1" and 110 pounds. An RCMP statement said she has short red hair and lip piercings.
Const. Gary O'Brien said the teenwears glasses, wigs and maydress as a male at times.
On Thursday,RCMPsaid Chang may be with 53-year-old Steven Bacon.
He is described as Caucasian, 5'10" and209 pounds with shortwhite hair. Baconhas a thick, "yellowing" goatee and a teardrop tattooed under his left eye.
He also has a tattoo on the back of his right hand, according to the statement.
O'Brien said anyone with information on Chang's disappearance should call RCMP at (250) 754-2345 or Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
