Marathon swimmer completes 105 km crossing of Okanagan Lake

Ultra-endurance athlete Adam Ellenstein has successfully completed his marathon, lengthwise swim of Okanagan Lake.

Ultra-endurance athlete Adam Ellenstein has successfullycompleted his marathon, lengthwise swim of Okanagan Lake.

It was nearlymidnightbefore the 39-year-old waded out of thewater atPenticton B.C.,more than 40 hours after he started his swim 105kilometres to the north atOkanaganLanding near Vernon B.C.

An enthusiastic crowd greeted Ellenstein before he was whiskedoff for a medical checkup.

The Detroit resident hopes to claim a Guinness World Record forthe swim and also wants to raise awareness about Parkinson'sDisease.
