Nordstrom hiring 1,000 people for Vancouver store

Nordstrom is hiring 1,000 people for its new downtown Vancouver location.

The upscale department store is posting the positions online next Tuesday and the official hiring starts in June.

It will move intoa high-profile property, formerly occupied by Sears,at Granville and West Georgia for its launch in September.

"This is our third store in Canada, so it's an exciting time to be a part ofNordstromand get in on the ground floor as we continue our growth across the country," saysChrisWanlass, store manager forNordstromPacific Centre.

Nordstrom islooking to fill sales positions in all its departments, includingclothing, shoes, accessories and cosmeticsas well as various support positions in alterations, building services and security.
