North Shore police warn of serial flasher targeting girls

The suspect is described as 40 to 50 years old, olive skinned, stocky with short black hair and driving a grey Nissan Rogue SUV.

Police have released a sketch of a man who has been reported in numerous incidentsof indecent exposureinvolving young girls.

Since late May, North Vancouver RCMPand West Vancouver police have received five reports ofa male driver who appears to follow children, waiting until a girl is alone.

The man then calls the girl over to his vehicle under the pretence of asking for directions.

In four of five cases, the girl wentto the side of his car and noticed the suspect had his genitals exposed. All of the girlsran away and reported the incident to an adult. The suspect drove away.

The girls rangein age from 10 to 16. Incidents took place near the Dollarton Highway and at15thStreetnear Lonsdale,although police say there have been reports from across the North Shore.

The suspect is described as 40 to 50 years of age, olive skinned, stocky buildand having short black hair. In eachcase, he was driving a newer model grey Nissan Rogue SUV.

Police have not located the vehicle and are urging North Shore residents to be vigilant and toreview personal safety measures with children, especially with school ending for the year.

Cpl. Richard De Jong of the North Vancouver RCMP says role playing a scenariowith children is a good way teach them how to respond.
