One man dead in targeted shooting in Burnaby

A shooting in Burnaby, B.C. early Monday morning has left one man dead, according to the RCMP.

A shooting in Burnaby, B.C. early Monday morning has left one man dead, according to the RCMP.

Residents reporting hearing about three shots fired around 1:30 a.m. PT in an alley near the intersection of Boundary Road and Spruce Street.

When police arrived they found a 31-year-old man suffering from several gunshots. He was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say they have identified the victim, but did not release the details. The shooting appeared to a targeted homicide, according RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen.

Police had interviewed a number of witnesses to the shooting, but no suspects have been arrested, said Thiessen.
