Actress Pamela Anderson says she wouldn't vote for Conservative Leader Stephen Harper because of his track record on climate change.

Canadian-born actress can't vote in election because she's lived outside country for more than 5 years

Actress Pamela Anderson says she wouldn't vote for Conservative Leader Stephen Harper because of histrack record on climate change.

"Climate change is the most important issue to anybody in the whole world," Anderson told a news conference gathered at the launch of her new book of poetry and photographs called Raw.

"And Harper doesn't have a good track record with that."

The former Baywatch star and model from Ladysmith, B.C., can't vote in Canada because she's lived outside the country for more than five years.

But the 48-year-old who calls herself a "small-town Canadian girl" says she hopes citizens will consider climate change the No. 1 issue when they go to the polls,Oct. 19.

The actress, who's known for her activism, also says she believes Canada should legalize marijuana and reiterated her opposition to British Columbia's wolf cull.

She released an open letter to B.C. Premier Christy Clark earlier this week calling for a better solution to saving endangered caribou than the culling of wolves.

"I don't think we should interfere with nature." she said.
