Vancouver officer assaulted in party bus brawl, police say

A woman has been arrested for assaulting a Vancouver police officerafter afight on a party bus early Saturday.

Police say they were calledto a report of an assault at Alberni and ThurlowStreets. When theyarrived, policewere told the assault suspect had boarded aparty bus.

Police located the busat Burrard and Nelson Streets and a fight eruptedwhen they tried to identify the man on the bus, according to a police statement.

Four people were arrested for breaching the peace and a woman was arrested for assaulting an officer, the statement said.

Cruisers from across the city as many as 24 at one pointwere called to the scene to get things under control.

There were no injuries.
