Accidents in Surrey, Abbotsford leave pedestrians with serious injuries

Two separate, serious accidents involving pedestrians in Abbotsford and Surrey, B.C., have left the victims in hospital with serious injuries, say police.

Two separate, serious accidents involvingpedestriansin Abbotsford and Surrey, B.C., have left the victimsin serious condition, say police.

In Surrey, a woman was knockedunconsciousand sustained severe head injuries after she was struck by aminivanon 75a Avenue at125th Street at about 6:15 p.m. PT.

The street has been closed since police arrived on the scene.

Police say the woman is between25 to 35 years oldand livesin the area.

In Abbotsford, a 74 year-old man was hit near the intersection of SlocanDriveand TretheweyStreet at around 7 p.m. PT.

The victim was taken to hospitalin critical conditionby air ambulance, say RCMP.

Police say the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
