Pedestrian in serious condition after Commercial Drive collision

A man was taken to hospital in serious condition after he was hit by a Mercedes carin Vancouver.

It happened on Commercial Drive around1:30 a.m. PT Thursdayat 1st Avenue.

The B.C. Ambulance Service saidthe man was transported to hospital on basic life support, with lights and sirens.

Police kept the collision scene sealed until 4 a.m., while they waited to hear an update on the pedestrian's condition.
