Police crack down on Vancouver cocaine trade

Several people are under arrest and could face drug charges after police executed search warrants in the Downtown Eastside area of Vancouver on Friday.
Police are trying to prevent cocaine being trafficked into Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
Several people are under arrest and could face drug charges after police executed search warrants in the Downtown Eastside(DTES) area of Vancouver on Friday.

Vancouver police entered an apartment on the 1100 block of Quebec Street at around 4 p.m., as part of an ongoing effort to prevent the supply ofcocaineinto the DTESand reduce the violence that goes with it.

Shortly before the search, police nearExpo Boulevard andSmitheStreet alsoarrested a 40-year-old man connected to the apartment and described as dangerous.

Two other people have been taken into custody, but no charges have yet been laid.

The investigation continues.
