Police identify man killed in Vancouver shooting

Vancouver police have identified the victim ofVancouver's latest deadly shooting.

Police say Nicholas Gordon Smith, 24, was the man found shot to death in an East Vancouver homeon Wednesday.

Few other details have been released, but police said at the time they believed it was a targeted hit.

Metro Vancouver has a rash of shootings in recent weeks, four of them fatal.

Last Friday, the province announced it will add 168 more officers and 10 prosecutors to fight gang and gun violence in the Lower Mainland.

Smith is Vancouver's sixth homicide of the year.
