Police seek witnesses in Burnaby shooting

Police are hoping people who saw the getaway car involved in a brazen daytime shooting in Burnaby, B.C., on Wednesday will come forward.

Chu Ka (Jonathan) Chang, 27, of Vancouver was found dead beside a black SUV in the parking lot of a dance studio at 7757 Edmonds St.

Police say a newer-model minivan, believed to be involved in the shooting, was seen leaving the scene heading west on Canada Way.

Police believe the van might have then travelled into the area of Gordon Avenue and Fromby Street, then south on Imperial Street.

Traffic was backed up in the area at the time of the shooting, and police are asking anyone who mighthave seen a minivan driving erratically to contact the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team tip line at 1-877-551-4448 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
