Police use YouTube in Pacific Spirit homicide

Homicide investigators in Vancouver have posted a video on YouTube to try and crack the mysterious death of Wendy Ladner-Beaudry in Pacific Spirit Park nearly one year ago this week.

The body of the 53-year-old Vancouver mother of two was found April 3, 2009, on a trail in the park in the city's upscale West Side.

On Wednesday, the force released the three-minute video "in the hope that it will cause someone to eventually come forward to speak to police," according toa statement on the YouTube website.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) spokesperson Dale Carr said police still have no suspects in the murder, and this is the first time IHIT has used YouTube to keep an investigation alive.

The video features pictures of Ladner-Beaudry, clips from local newscasts about the investigation, interviews with officers, and Ladner-Beaudry's brother former Vancouver Councillor Peter Ladner, and a re-enactment ofher final run through the park, all set to the music of Amazing Grace.

"The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has produced this short video to serve as a constant reminder of the day that Wendy was murdered," police said on the website.

Police believe Ladner-Beaudry was jogging prior to being killed. Investigators have not revealed how she died nor have they publicly identified any potential supects.
