Man dies after fight in Port Coquitlam, B.C.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over thecrime scene atShaughnessy Square nearCoquitlam Avenue and Flint Streetin Port Coquitlam, B.C.,after a fatal stabbing on Sunday.

Paramedics said theyreceived a call about the incident just after 1 p.m. PT and sent two ambulances. Emergency crewstransported one patient in critical condition to hospital, where he later died.

Coquitlam RCMPsaid in a releasethey responded to calls for analtercation outside of a local pub and, "founda man suffering from serious, life threatening injuries, allegedly sustained from a fight, according to witnesses."

"There is no evidence to indicate the public is at risk as a result of this incident," said the release, adding that the victim has not yet been identified.

Police also have not saidif they have made any arrests in the case.
