Newly released documents show one of the B.C. teens who admitted to killing a schoolmate denied the crime to police, but confessed details about the rape and torture to friends and acquaintances.

Kruse Wellwood, now 17, and Cameron Moffat, now 18, ultimately pleaded guilty to the March 2010 first-degree murder of Kimberly Proctor near Victoria.

In interview transcripts released last week, Moffatt suggested he was a reluctant participant in the sexual assault and torture of Proctor and Wellwood was the instigator and actual killer.

Wellwood is seen in documents released Monday also denying any involvement in the luring, torture andkillingof Proctor and later of burning her body.

RCMP Cpl. John Ferguson asked Wellwood what kind of person would do those things.

"Someone who thinks it's worth it to kill someone or someone who's in a fit of rage," Wellwood replied.

"Is there's any time that you can think of where it would be just to take a person's life," Ferguson asked.

"No. I don't even believe in war," said Wellwood. "I mean if there were no guns there would be no war and things could be settled politically instead."

Confessed to others

But Wellwood had already confessed to the crime to othersin an internet chat accomanyingan online game and in an email, in which he also said, "I'm pretty sure I'm a sociopath or crazy," andwould have to commitsuicide.

While awaiting trial in juvenile detention, Wellwood confessed to the crime to several young detainees, but he blamed Moffat as the instigator and mastermind, saying it was all his idea and that Moffat tied Proctor up and suffocated her.

He also told the others that Moffat threatened him that he'd go to the police and blame him for the crime.

Authorities have yet to release transcripts of the boys ultimately admitting to the killing.

Moffat and Wellwood have been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 10 years.
