The Vancouver School Board has voted to keep Queen Elizabeth Annex Elementary School open.

The Vancouver School Board has voted to keep Queen Elizabeth Annex Elementary School open.

The board originally planned to raise about $20 million by closing the small elementary school and selling the property.

But chair Clarence Hansen said Wednesday evening thatthe boardhas agreed to transfer the Ann-Hbert school building in Killarney to the province instead.

That facility is currently operated as cole Ann-Hbert by the province's independent French education program.

"We're actually not going to be displacing any Vancouver students. It will continue operating as that, but now it will be transferred to the French provincial education program," said Hansen.
