Langley RCMP said they received a complaint July 2 about a suspected drunk driver leaving the casino. They located the vehicle and driver, who turned out to bean off-duty officer assigned to the E division headquarters in Vancouver.

Theinvestigation is continuing and no charges have been laid, according to a statement released by RCMPCpl. Annie Linteau on Wednesday morning.

The officer's status will be reviewed after the Crown decideswhether to lay charges, the statement said. She will not be named publicly unless she's charged.

"Every police officer has seen first-hand the trauma and heartbreak caused by drinking and driving," Linteau said. "Every case of impaired driving is disappointing but especially when it involves a police officer."
