Thirty years ago, an accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the Ukraine led to one of the world's worst radiation leaks. It affected food produce on the continent including a shipment of lettuce that reached Vancouver.

Thirty years ago,an accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plantin the Ukraine led to one of the world's worstradiation leaks.

The fall out fromthe leak on April 26, 1986, was felt across Europe andlinked to numerous cancer cases.

The disasteralsoaffected food produce on the continent, including a shipment of lettuce that reached Vancouver several weeks later.
