Robert Goertzen from Kelowna wins $21.9M Lotto 6/49 prize

A heavy equipment instructor from Kelowna says he'll continue working, despite having won a $21.9 million lotteryprize over the weekend.

Robert Goertzen, 44, says he felt like he'd shot to fame as soon as he checked his ticket at a Real Canadian Superstore in Kelowna.

"I felt famous! Everyone was coming up to me to congratulate me and to take a photo of me and the lottery screen," he said in a written release.

Goertzen says he plans to continue working, but also has a few big purchases in mind.

"I'm going to buy a diesel truck and a new fifth-wheel trailer for myself and a Jeep for my girlfriend and of course, I'll pay off my debt," saidGoertzen.

He saidhe will also help providehis daughter with her education.

Goertzenalso said he'll continue to buy Lotto 6/49 tickets as part of his weekly grocery shopping routine.

The B.C. Lotto Corporation said the$1-million guaranteed prize drawfor Feb. 20was also boughtin B.C. The winning ticket was sold in Mission.

The 6/49 grand prize was last won Jan. 30, when a ticket worth $18.3million was held by someone in Ontario.

The jackpot for the next Lotto 6/49 draw on Wednesday night will be $5million.
