Daytime shooting in Delta sends man to hospital

One man has been sent to hospital after a shooting this morning that police call "concerning ... to public safety."

A man has been sent to hospital and the suspect is on the loose after a shooting this morning in the 9200 block of 120 Streetin Delta, B.C.

Police have closed 120th Streetin both directions at 92nd Avenuewhile they investigate. The shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. PT.

The suspect's vehicle, described as "a dark smaller import,"was seen heading from the shooting northboundon 120th Street.

"This is a daytime shooting so ... that is concerning for us with respect to public safety," said Sharlene Brooks of the Delta Police Department.

"We've got several police officers in and around the area."

The victim, a 25-year-old man, has non-life threatening injuries andis not cooperating with the investigation, saidDelta Police.

Brooks did not know if the shooting was targetedand said police have not yet identified a suspect.
